The story before Kaymann Brighton Grace Davis arrives!!!

Well things got crazy in the month of February for Cliff and I... Here is a quick rundown of the month and what led to our early surprise. My baby shower was originally scheduled for February 5 and my maternity photo shoot a few days before; however, the snow won the race and both were post-poned a week later.

So I was running around crazy!!! The photo shoot with Tara Swain was incredible! She is simply amazing and so talented! I was showered to no end at my baby shower. I can't believe the generosity the ladies showed to Kaymann and me. I am honored to know that I have so many dear family and friends close to heart and truly care for me. The wonderful hosts did an outstanding job planning me shower and making it perfect with the zebra, pink and lime green idea!!!

So Cliff and I came home for the evening after the shower, then got up the next morning to head on our BabyMoon in Granbury, Texas. We had the time of our lives!!! I know exactly why I married this man!!! We went to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park in Glen Rose. I got to feed zebras and giraffes; yall know my passion for those 2 animals!! :) We came home a few days later to have Kaymann's nursery furniture delivered. The fun then began to finally decorate and put together the nursery. In 2 days, Cliff and I worked from sun up to sun down and had the nursery ready for Kaymann's appearance.

So that week on Thursday I went to the doctor, and was put on bedrest. My blood pressure was trying to creep up and be high. So the next days I spent at home for the most part laid up. Let me tell you, the busy body that I am, it was HARD!!!!

Back to the doctor on Monday, and that day I was sent to Labor and Delivery for blood pressure monitoring. This was February 21. I knew I had to rest at this point or was going to make this baby come earlier than I wanted. So I finally got released 3 1/2 hours later and went straight home and hit the couch. Went back to see Dr. Pierce on Thursday of that week and I was still on the verge of being high, so he gave me an order to come back Saturday to get monitored again. Luckily Cliff was off that weekend and could go with me. But reality finally set in, we better get our bags packed and in the car, and also get the car seat installed!

Saturday came and went and I was still in the clear and thank goodness, I wanted my Miss March!!! February 28 (Monday) again back to see Dr. Pierce and BP was 89-90. Back to L&D and by 11:30, Dr. Pierce came in and informed me that I would be staying put in the hospital. I became very emotional, only expected from me, that the TRUE process of Kaymann making her appearance was about to begin. Things got better after talking to Cliff and Dr. Pierce and I knew I was in wonderful care there and either way things were going to be alright!!! j

Here are a few random pics!!!

Glucose Test Results

So as we all know, almost every pregnant woman these days is now given a Glucose Test in her 7th month of pregnancy. I had mine the week before Christmas and kind of fretted having this done too. I for sure didn't want to test positive, but of course knew the chance could be there.

Cliff and I arrived early and I drank the oh so horrible orange drink. It's like orange Crush with an entire 5 pound bag of sugar in it. UGH!!! And you can't have anything to drink after so the sugar just sits in your mouth for an entire hour.

An hour passed and it was time to check. Joy, the nurse, tested my blood and I PASSED!!! Whew!!!

Happy 2011

The holiday season came and went in a flash! Cliff and I were super busy running here and there and also getting things done on our agenda.

We started out December by hitting up Canton the first weekend. I wanted to get a piece of art for Kaymann's room I had seen at another show, and knew I must track it down. Success!!!

The 2nd weekend I went with my mom to see the Christmas pageant that Prestonwood Baptist Church puts on and it was absolutely phenomenal! I would recommend to anyone!

The 3rd weekend I had Spirit of Christmas for my Junior League group and also Christmas with my dad. Good times and lots of Mexican food eaten.

Christmas week Cliff and I went to East TX Christmas Eve then on to Denison to his grandparents that evening. Christmas morning was spent with his parents and then on to his Grandma's for lunch. We headed home that afternoon to have Christmas with my mom that evening after she got off work. Can we say BUSY! This is this first time my back truly hurt from being in the car in one position too much.

Cliff was on vacation for 15 days so we got lots of time to spend together and spend lots of it working on Kaymann's room.

We tore off the old trim and then painted new trim and Cliff installed it. His first trim job, but a huge success! Her room is literally a lime that exploded with hot pink trim! I can't wait to post pictures once her room is complete!

New Year's Eve we spent working on her room and at midnight enjoyed some Sparkling White Grape Juice!

I got to see my best friend Amy that now lives in Oregon while she was in town too. She just got married in November in Fiji! Congrats to Adam and her on their new chapter in life!!! So happy for the 2 of them!

Deer hunting... Then WWIII

Cliff and I headed to the deer lease on Saturday for a little hunting fun. We got there just about at sun up, because we were running late as usual. Anyhow about 15 minutes of sitting in the stand we here a gun shot. I look at Cliff and ask if that might be my dad on the other side of the lease. No biggie. So we sit there and about 15 minutes later we hear about 6 gun shots almost in a row. So by that time i call my dad and no answer, so text him. He texts back and tells me that my Uncle Bill and him have 3 bucks on the ground. Here is what we found when we got there!!! We stayed so Cliff could help them basically "gut" them... After experiencing such a gorry morning, I now know I can stomach anything!!!

It's a .......!!! and... Happy Birthday Cliffy!!!

Well after going to my doctor's appointment on November 1, Dr. Pierce finally gave me the release to get a sonogram for a week and a half later being November 11, 2010... Cliff and I considered that day pretty lucky for some reason and also being a day before Cliff's 28th birthday.

Through many trials and tribulations, Cliff was finally able to go to the appointment. He had to stay up an entire 26 hours, but he said it was worth it to be there when Lori, the sono tech, made the official announcement. She said its 100%, no doubt about it, and I could shop my little heart away and prepare for this little butterbean's arrival.

Being that Cliff is on the night crew right now, we are not able to announce to our parents until November 21. We will be meeting at Babe's in Frisco and making the announcement of the gender and name!!! The anticipation is building!!!

Anyhow here are a few stats of the baby as of Week 23 of my pregnancy:

Weight: 1 pound 3 ounces (healthy little stinker!!!)

Heartbeat: 142 B.P.M.

Everything looks perfect according the the sonogram tech and we will go back in a week and a half to see Dr. Pierce.

Cliff said this is the best gift he could ever receive early for his birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLIFFY!!!

Girl Bedding

Well after getting a quote for custom bedding and seeing the price, I walked into a baby store and finally found my girl bedding! I love it and it still has some patchwork in it.

I don't have a picture of the boy bedding, but it is made by CoCaLo and is called Round Up or Round Em'Up!

New Diaper Bag!!!

Since Cliff was gone hunting in Arkansas for the week I decided to go visit my mom and she ended up taking off a day from work so we could go look at baby stuff! We actually ended up going to Tyler and invited my grandmama to go with us to Storkland there. We had a fabulous lunch at Potpourri and then went to Storkland. Mom said she would go ahead and buy my bag for me and we got to the register and my grandmama got for me instead! I absolutely love it! its a Kalencom, so its laminate, and then comes with a changing pad, insulated bottle holder and laminate bag to hold miscellaneous baby items! Basically this is my new purse!!! I can't wait to use it!!!

Woohoo for the half-way mark!!! I went to the doctor on October 14 and everything was looking great. Still strong heartbeat, my blood pressure was great and I even lost weight this visit!!! I was super stoked! My next visit is November 1 and Dr. Pierce will decide then if I am far enough along to his satisfaction to go ahead and schedule a sonogram so I can finally know the gender of my little butterbean! Cliff and I are getting very anxious!!! Ready to plan and decorate the nursery!!!
