Wow... How time has flown by in a flash. Its already mid January and I still haven't update Christmas time and the New Year...
Cliff and I were fortunate enough to spend Christmas Eve with his Papa and Darlene and the entire Brown family. Lots of food and fellowship that evening. Soraya entertained us by inpersonating Hannah Montana... She has grown up so much since the first Christmas I spent with the Brown family in 2004. Again time flies there too. Cliff and I headed back to Decatur so Santa Clause would come visit the next morning.
It was so lonely with out Cutter there too. (He was at BluMoon Pet Resort.) Christmas morning was spend with my mom. We opened presents with each other and with mom. It was special and simple. Cliff cooked mom and I breakfast and we also had some raspberry danish from Stine's Bakery in Dallas. FYI... If you have never experienced their bakery items you are "truly" missing out!!!
The next couple of days were spend at the GAYLORD TEXAN!!! My grandparents gave our family a vacation to there. It was spectacular as always and great to see some of the family we don't get to see too much either. The first evening we went as a family to the Ice show. Very pretty and it has changed since Cliff and I were there last time. The next day was shopping in downtown Grapevine. I found the cutest dish towel at a western store there. It said "Two Steppin on Sunday to Church", with a Cowboy and Cowgirl. :) I'm such a dork!!! hehe
We got back to the hotel and decided to go to the movies to see "Marley and Me" for my mom's birthday. Very heart-felt movie and definately bring a box of Kleenexes with you. I noticed not only that my mom was crying but also Cliff. We gave mom her presents that day also. Poor thing she gets robbed on her birthday with Christmas being so close and so does Cliff's mom. Maybe we should start a tradition in July.. mmmm... Oh well just kidding.
That even we had dinner at the Ama Lur inside the Gaylord. It was nice and good overall. We had ice cream at a shop inside and then took a stroll outside to enjoy to scenic lights and trail. Oddly enough it was in the uppper 70's on the day after Christmas and muggy and windy!!!
The next day it was time to go home and back to reality... Cutter came home. Mom went back to her home in Prosper and I took down all of the Christmas stuff inside.
The new year was well on the rise... We spent New Years Eve with our neighbors Joe and Lilly and their kids. It was simple and enjoyable. Joe made some killer fajita's!!!
New Year's day was full of football games and black-eyed peas.. Yes we ate peas. Gotta have some good luck. And yes Cliff ate about 10 spoonfuls, even though they aren't his favorite.
Happy New Year to Everyone!!! Good luck in 2009!!!
